A strong first stint and Verstappen only had to manage his tires to win
Max Verstappen had a first race this season without any opposition, during which he only had to manage his tires, although he complained about a problem with the RB19.

One year after the double retirement of the Red Bull team on the Sakhir track, double world champion Max Verstappen set things right by winning, ahead of his teammate Sergio Perez, the first Grand Prix of the season.
A victory that, according to him, was earned thanks to a very good first relay where he was able to widen the gap.
“We never know what will happen at the end of the race, so I wanted to have the right tires in the right conditions, and it’s great to finally win in Bahrain,” said Verstappen.
During the race, the Dutch driver complained about having to deal with a rear axle lock-up during downshifts. A situation that doesn’t worry him.
« It was nothing serious, just a few minor adjustments to do, but nothing important to review. I think we have a good package for the race, and we can fight. Thanks to the team for giving us such a good car. »
