Alexander Albon satisfied after the Bahrain Grand Prix: “we made good progress”
After a difficult 2022 season, Williams has started the 2023 season well. Alex Albon scored the team's first points by finishing in the top 10.

Williams finished a dismal last in the 2022 championship with only 8 points. After this challenging season, the British team parted ways with its CEO, Jost Capito, and technical director, FX Demaison, during the off-season.
It appears that the team based in Grove has started a small revolution to improve, and their efforts paid off this weekend in Bahrain for the first Grand Prix of the year. Alex Albon, starting 15th on the grid, ultimately finished the race in 10th position. He admits that this result was a bit of a shock.
“We had a great start, gained positions, adopted a very good strategy, and showed flexibility,” he declared.
If he did not expect such a performance, this one bears witness to the team’s hard work during the winter.
If you had told me that we would finish in the points by the end of this weekend, I would have told you – well, I don’t know what I would have told you – it was quite special and honestly not just for me, Logan was pretty fast too, we were both up there and fighting.
Indeed, his young teammate, Logan Sargeant, also made a great performance by finishing 12th, just outside the points. It is worth noting that the two drivers were not racing under the same conditions, as Williams continued to test their options for the future development of the FW45.
“We were actually on different setups this weekend and in the end, they both worked well,” said Alex Albon. “I know there is more pace in the car, and I hope we can show it in the upcoming races. I am obviously very happy and I thank the team for their hard work.”
(I) I’ve already said it, but everyone is looking at the Aston Martin, but we have also made incredible progress. It’s harder to see because we’re not on the podium, but we have made good progress, added the Thai.
Alex Albon believes that the team is heading in the right direction and hopes to continue on this trajectory to move up from the bottom of the table.
