We hadn’t seen a Fernando Alonso as conquering in a race for years. With his third place in Bahrain, the Spanish driver showed that despite being 41 years old, he wasn’t finished and was able to compete with the younger ones. Mark Webber even sees him staying until he’s 44 years old.

For former F1 driver, Fernando Alonso hasn’t lost any of his will to win and his competitiveness: He has been in the paddock for 20 years and has changed since his first race. But the instinct and combativeness are still there, assures the Australian. He highlights his aggressiveness on the track that characterizes him: He wants to fight his competitors in a very tough way that is rewarding for him. It will never be different with Fernando, he explains, before adding that he has the possibility to stay longer than his two-year contract. Fernando should never leave before the age of 44, says David Coulthard, who also speaks highly of him: There are comments about his age, but he is fit, focused, and capable of being on the podium often this year.

Red Bull too strong upfront

Considering his performance in Bahrain, to be confirmed in Jeddah, can Fernando Alonso hope to win races, or even more? As for Webber, it all depends on the reliability of the Red Bulls. He sees them dominating this season, but he believes that on a good day, he can win. His talent is unquestionable, and his Aston Martin gives him the opportunity to win. Now he has a new chance and no longer needs to prove his talent. There is no doubt about it, says the Australian. According to Coulthard, Alonso might have a chance to win, thanks to Red Bull’s penalty received in the wind tunnel for exceeding their budget. According to the Scot, Alonso’s chances are real. There seems to be a solid foundation that gives the team a chance, worst case scenario, to finish third in the constructors’ championship.
