Vasseur admits to a « poor communication » during the race, with Leclerc
After the radio confusion in Jeddah, the boss of the Ferrari team, Frédéric Vasseur, acknowledged that the team will have to address Charles Leclerc's communication problem during the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix.

Following a disappointing race for the Scuderia, Charles Leclerc saw the podium slip away, finishing over 40 seconds behind the winner, Sergio Perez, in the second round of the season in Jeddah.
Starting the weekend with a handicap, after his retirement in Bahrain, Leclerc nevertheless set the second fastest time in qualifying before being demoted by 10 places due to the use of new power unit elements.
The next day, starting in 12th position, the Monégasque driver experienced a successful first stint in the race, climbing up to the top five before the safety car was deployed on the 18th lap to allow for the evacuation of Lance Stroll’s car at turn 13.
It was at that moment that the incident occurred. Leclerc, who was leading Lewis Hamilton before his pit stop, came out behind the Mercedes driver, having been informed too late that he had to push from line 1 of the safety car.
Leclerc, unhappy, responded, “You need to tell me beforehand,” before adding, “No, I mean it!”
Vasseur acknowledges Ferrari’s “poor communication”
After the race, Ferrari’s boss, Frédéric Vasseur, admitted that it hadn’t been a good decision before adding that the team would look into the poor exchanges that affected Leclerc, even though it’s not a priority for now.
« That’s not the main problem,” he also says. « And I think it would be a mistake on our part to dwell on it. »
I don’t mean to say that these are details. It’s a communication error and we’ll have to talk about it to resolve the issue. It’s not the main problem at all this weekend.
