Red Bull owes part of its success to its braking system
Since the introduction of the new technical regulations, top teams find themselves limited in the design of their race car. However, nothing prevents them from innovating, like Red Bull with their braking system.

Among the numerous innovations that the teams bring to their cars, braking systems continue to be developed, with the aim of reducing weight and optimizing performance on the track. This season, Red Bull has made significant modifications, which are part of the team’s current success.
Red Bull primarily relied on its braking system from last year as a solid foundation for their work. With the switch to 18-inch rims and the introduction of new regulations, the Austrian team opted for a unique fairing design aimed at enclosing the brake disc in a large drum for optimal brake temperature control. The reigning world champion team has revised its braking system by using a larger fairing for the disc and making modifications to the brake caliper to improve cooling and reduce the weight of the car. A new addition: small tubes have been added to the caliper to enable better temperature management.
Other stables are reviewing their brakes
Just like Red Bull, Ferrari has also revised its braking system. Compared to last season, the Italian team has placed a fairing around the brake disc, which resulted in a displacement of the caliper. The fresh air pipes have therefore been redesigned to enter from both sides of the caliper. The brake discs have also been modified, with nine X-shaped holes instead of five diagonal ones for better cooling. Aston Martin has also reviewed its design in this area, also revising the position of the caliper and equipping it with tubes, just like Red Bull.
