Sainz denies rumors linking him to Audi for 2026
In an interview with the Spanish press, the Ferrari driver expressed annoyance at the rumors of him leaving Ferrari to join Audi in 2026.

Carlos Sainz is a Ferrari driver and will remain one for a long time. At least, that’s what the native of Madrid declared to the newspaper Marca, putting an end to rumors sending him to Audi. The brand with the rings, who is actively preparing for its entry into the premier category of motorsport, has not made any announcements regarding the drivers who will make up its lineup in three years, but has stated that it will prioritize the speed of the driver over their nationality (German in particular).
Annoyed by rumors that they consider unfounded, the current 5th in the championship sees himself staying with Ferrari for a long time: “My intention is to stay at Ferrari for many years. I don’t understand why people talk about what might happen in 2026 when I still don’t have a contract for 2025.”
Carlos Sainz arrived at Ferrari at the beginning of 2021 after two successful seasons at McLaren. Former member of the Red Bull program, Scuderia is the fourth team he has raced for in F1, after Toro Rosso, Renault, and McLaren. The 28-year-old driver, who won his first Grand Prix last season in Silverstone, still has a two-year contract with Maranello to prove that he definitively belongs in a top team.
