The intense recovery makes McLaren “nervous”, especially in case of damages or accidents
After three weeks of break, Formula 1 resumes its rights intensively in Azerbaijan, with no less than five Grand Prix in six weeks. In case of accidents for its cars, the director of the McLaren team is concerned about the transportation of parts.

The premier category of motorsports is about to have its first double appointment of the season, followed by a triple one two weeks later.
A logistical challenge for Formula 1 teams. The majority of them will arrive with the first updates of the season. In case of accidents, the supply of spare parts is likely to be a problem, especially since the Azerbaijan Grand Prix is often the stage for spectacular and eventful races. And as if that weren’t enough, the first Sprint race of the season will be held on the streets of Baku, doubling the number of starts and increasing the risk.
“The additional workload that this entails worries the team boss of McLaren, Andrea Stella. When asked how he feels about starting this weekend, he unequivocally answers: « Yes, I am nervous. »
« At the same time, we are in favor of increasing the spectacle through sprint races. In one way or another, we have to adapt, he admits.
« Discussions are also ongoing with the FIA and F1, so it is a collaborative process. »
In the end, we will have to find the optimal point for the show and help the teams manage the parts and costs within the cost ceiling.
When asked if McLaren will be short of spare parts for the upcoming races, the team manager is not worried about their situation in the immediate future.
We are going to Baku with a sufficient number of parts, which will be replenished for the next race anyway, in order to increase the quantity, confirms Stella.
The Italian engineer turned team principal of the McLaren team will be able to rely on the youngest, but not without talent, pair of drivers on the grid, Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri.
