Pirelli announces the tire selection for the next 2 Grand Prix
The teams now know the types of tires that will be allocated for the Monaco and Spain Grand Prix. If the manufacturer brings its softest compounds to the Principality, it is not the case for the Spanish GP.

Pirelli, in its statement, has made public the types of tires that the teams will be able to use on their cars during the Monaco and Spanish Grand Prix. In the streets of Monaco, the teams will have at their disposal the three softest tire compounds: C3, C4, and C5. This choice is motivated by the low average speed on this circuit and the fact that the asphalt is not very abrasive.
A one-stop strategy seems to be the scenario chosen by the manufacturer, only if the race unfolds without the intervention of the safety car. But in the narrow streets of Monaco, this possibility is not forbidden, just like Mick Schumacher’s accident last year in the 27th lap.
As for the Spanish Grand Prix, the Italian company has decided to bring its hardest compounds: C1, C2, and C3. This choice is partly motivated by the redesign of the last chicane, which subjects the tires to increased lateral stress in the last two turns.
