The costs of sustainable development will be removed from the financial limit
The members of the FIA commission have received a proposal from a working group aiming to remove the financial limits imposed on environmental measures.

For their second meeting of 2023, the members of the Formula 1 commission gathered on Tuesday to discuss several points ahead of the drivers’ return to the track. Beyond the questions about the race format for the weekend, with the first sprint qualifying session of the season in Baku, a working group within the Financial Advisory Committee (CCF) has submitted a proposal to exclude costs related to certain sustainability initiatives.
With the support of several members of the CCF and the approval of the Commission, this proposal was accepted on Sunday. The FIA statement specifies: « These exclusions cover, among others, the costs associated with the installation of sustainable infrastructure, the audit, and monitoring of competitors’ carbon footprint ».
The stables will no longer see their financial ceiling being impacted by donations to charitable organizations involved in promoting environmental sustainability projects and carbon offset programs.
This initiative must take shape as of the 2023 financial settlement.
