The game F1 23 is proving to be a bit more challenging
No official images of F1 23 yet, but a video that allows us to learn more about the new toy from EA Sports.
On its social networks, EA Sports F1 has renamed itself Konnersport Racing Team. On their Twitter account banner, it is possible to read “Butler Global”. There is no doubt that this is a reference to Devon Butler.
EA went all out to tease the arrival of F1 23. To keep fans waiting for concrete information about the game, which will be released in early May, the development studio staged a fake livery presentation. Hosted by Naomi Schiff, a former pilot, and Durk Chocolate, a Twitch streamer, the two were tasked with revealing the first car from the Konnersport Racing Team. You might not recognize this name because it’s simply a fictional team created by Codemasters. This fictional team could serve two purposes according to our assumptions. The first would be to create increased rivalry in the My Team mode, and/or to add an eleventh team in the story mode, giving the game developers complete freedom in writing the storyline.
This short 8-minute video confirmed the return of Devon Butler. The player’s main antagonist in F1 2019 if the player decides to start their career in F2, as well as in F1 2021 in the Breaking Point mode. EA’s use of the hashtag #BeTheLastToBreak on social media suggests that the continuation of this story could be present in the upcoming F1 game. Otherwise, what would be the point of bringing back Butler, and especially Aiden Jackson? Although the presence of the latter has not been confirmed, his driver number was featured in the teaser, which would confirm his presence.
Another very interesting element in this trailer was the presence of recorded voices from real F1 drivers like Max Verstappen and Charles Leclerc. In the trailer, both of them were excited about the arrival of an eleventh team on the grid. While we knew that the 3D models had been reworked for F1 23, many were hoping to finally be able to hear their favorite drivers in the game. It seems that this is now the case.
