The Netflix series dedicated to Formula 1, Drive to Survive, has been successful, it’s no secret. But today, it’s Günther Steiner’s turn to share his vision of motorsport in his book: Surviving to Drive. In this edition, the Haas team principal recounts the 2022 season from his point of view.

What we wanted was to explain things as they really are […] and not just tell a nice story. There are things that some people don’t like to hear, but that’s life, declared Günther Steiner about the purpose of his book. A narrative that notably allows us to see tensions grow concerning Mick Schumacher’s situation during the previous season.

As usual, the Italian speaks without filters and says what he thinks. From the pressure weighing on the team bosses to the drivers’ performances, including their management, the boss of Haas reveals all the secrets of the American team’s season. In fact, it is the first time that a team accepts its director to open up in this way.

The idea of the book was to follow and explain to people, in an entertaining way, a year in the life of a team manager so that they could see that it’s not glorious every day, explained Günther Steiner.

The book has been available for sale since April 20th on online platforms, in both paper and audio versions. It has even been translated into several languages, including French, to allow a large audience to discover the behind-the-scenes of his stable.
