Toto Wolff is going to teach at Harvard
The boss of Mercedes is going to become a lecturer alongside Professor Anita Elberse, with whom he has worked closely in recent years.

Toto Wolff will teach a course for first and second-year MBA students, that is, a Master’s degree in Business Administration. Toto Wolff will be appointed as an Executive Fellow, and the course will be taught under the title “Mercedes F1: Leading a High-Performance Team”. The course will take place in January 2024, taking advantage of a rare relatively calm period in Wolff’s typically busy schedule as the head of the organization based in Brackley.
Wolff will teach the course in collaboration with Professor Anita Elberse. This Dutch professor followed Wolff and the team during the 2021 season, studying their way of working, and wrote a case study titled “Toto Wolff and the Mercedes Formula One Team,” which led to previous appearances of Wolff on the university campus in Massachusetts.
Both also collaborated on an article in the prestigious Harvard Business Review titled “Number One in Formula One”, where Elberse broke down Wolff’s leadership philosophy into six lessons to help managers develop their leadership culture.
“I feel very honored and privileged to continue working with the incredibly brilliant young minds at Harvard,” Wolff stated. “Every time I set foot on campus, I am inspired by the curiosity and ambition of the students, and I leave energized by the special learning environment they create with the brilliant faculty.”
“We are excited to welcome Toto back on campus,” said Elberse. “I was able to witness firsthand how much our students benefit from Toto’s leadership journey and his deep understanding of what it takes to lead a highly successful sports team.”
Professor Len Schlesinger, President of the Practice Faculty, declared: “HBS is fortunate to be able to benefit from this dynamic partnership of Anita and Toto. I am convinced that it will be a spectacular experience for the students.”
