Sergio Pérez: “Max had a great pace”
Despite his pole position in Miami, Sergio Pérez had to concede in the end of the race to his teammate Max Verstappen.

Second behind Verstappen at the finish of the Miami Grand Prix, Sergio Pérez couldn’t do anything at the end of the race to hold on to the first position: « I gave everything during this Grand Prix. I lost a lot of time at the start of the race and the first stint was bad. »
Recognizing his teammate’s merit, Pérez believes that the performance differences between the tires were too significant: « Max was very effective with the hard compound, congratulations on his victory. I think the medium tires were too slow in terms of pace at the beginning of the race. Max had much more pace than me. »
Sergio Pérez is still second in the championship but is losing ground to his teammate with a 14-point deficit now.
