AlphaTauri receives the three-star environmental accreditation from the FIA

The FIA environmental accreditation program started in 2011 and aims to help stakeholders in motorsport improve their environmental footprint. The team, led by Franz Tost, is the latest Formula 1 team to receive this honor from the FIA.

As is customary, AlphaTauri’s environmental performances were examined in an official audit by the FIA. Following this examination, the auditors declared that AlphaTauri « has shown strong commitment towards the best practices in environmental management ».

The team has transitioned from a two-star accreditation to a three-star accreditation, which has allowed them to reduce their emissions through the use of green electricity. They now utilize 100% renewable energy sources to power their facilities in Italy and the United Kingdom. The Faenza plant now has 330 solar panels.

While Formula 1 itself pursues its journey towards “Zero Carbon” by 2030, AlphaTauri has aligned itself with several initiatives observed throughout the sport, which includes the reduction of single-use plastics in team facilities, and their shared motorhome “Energy Station” during Grand Prix races with Red Bull, made of wood to help reduce weight and cost when transported.
