AlphaTauri fined for Tsunoda’s speeding in FP2
After the investigation opened by the FIA regarding Yuki Tsunoda's speeding in the pits during FP2, the team of the Japanese driver avoids a sporting penalty.

The FIA has listened to the arguments of Tsunoda and his team after the second practice session of the Monaco Grand Prix this Friday. The Japanese driver’s car was measured at 76.2km/h, which is 16.2km/h above the authorized speed in the pits in the Principality.
Tsunoda entered the pits after hitting the barrier at the exit of the chicane. According to the FIA, the damaged car posed a potential danger to the other competitors and the personnel of the other teams. Nyck de Vries’ teammate admitted to forgetting to activate the speed limiter and understanding the dangerous nature of the situation. The Kanagawa native is thus getting away with a warning, while his team is fined €1000.
AlphaTauri and its driver are doing well considering that a grid penalty would have been more than detrimental in Monaco.
