Haas plans to keep its current drivers for the next season
Günther Steiner, head of the Haas team, stated that the American team has no intention of making changes to its Formula 1 lineup in 2024, currently consisting of Kevin Magnussen and Nico Hülkenberg.

On the same foundations. Kevin Magnussen returned to the Haas F1 Team for the 2022 season after Nikita Mazepin was forced to leave the team during the pre-season. This happened following the invasion of Ukraine by Russia. The Danish driver immediately impressed after a year of absence by collecting the majority of Haas’ points.
His teammate Mick Schumacher was not retained for 2023. Haas has preferred to opt for a more experienced driver in the person of Niko Hülkenberg. The German veteran has proven to be a clever recruit so far, as he has scored six of the eight points accumulated by the team this season.
When asked about the future of the team, Günther Steiner stated that he was rather satisfied with his current duo and hoped that the team could make a decision in the near future. “Regarding the driver market, I think we are currently quite satisfied with what we have,” said Steiner. “It is clear that we want to announce our drivers as early as possible so as not to fall behind like last year.”
The experience of the two drivers is a major asset
Steiner added that the pilots’ experience helped the team find a direction to solve the issues with their 2023 car, which showed great pace in qualifying but struggled to maintain good positions in the race. « Yes, I would say that [the pilots’ experience helps]. Nico didn’t mince his words about the strong tire degradation, and what I like is that we talk about it openly. »
There is no attempt at concealment, it’s very open. Everyone says, “Hey, let’s try to find out more about what’s going on.”
The American leader added that the team was also satisfied with its technical partnership with Ferrari and wished to maintain the status quo. « On Ferrari’s side, I believe that in the short and medium term, there is no reason to change. Just because you have a year like this one doesn’t mean you have to immediately switch to someone else. »
