Lewis Hamilton: “It has been a good weekend for us.”
Third in this Grand Prix after attempting to overtake Alonso in the final laps, Lewis Hamilton is satisfied with his weekend.
After a rhythm battle against Fernando Alonso, Lewis Hamilton secured a new podium this season, even though everything wasn’t perfect. This isn’t the absolute result we wanted today, but it has been a good weekend for us.
Unfortunately, we didn’t have the rhythm today. We struggled, and we knew it wouldn’t be our track because we always have difficulties on slow corners. And I was losing in this area to Max and Fernando, Hamilton said.
The race for innovations continues, a domain in which Mercedes and Aston Martin are engaged in a fierce battle. The Aston Martin team has taken another step forward this weekend with their developments, but we will work to bring more.
Despite these few points, Lewis Hamilton is happy with this result. We stayed consistent and to step on the podium in Montreal is fantastic, especially in front of this incredible crowd.
