McLaren hopes to reduce its lag
McLaren should bring new improvements to the cars during the next three Grand Prix.

Only the 6th team since the beginning of the season. McLaren is expected to introduce several improvements in the upcoming Grand Prix races.
The English team had already brought a new rear wing to Canada.
With a 27-point deficit compared to Alpine (McLaren scored 17 points in 8 Grand Prix), the team led by Andrea Stella claims that « The extensive set of upgrades that McLaren is preparing for its car will have an immediate impact on its performance ».
The biggest part of the upgrades should be brought to the Red Bull Ring for the Austrian Grand Prix on July 2nd. The other two parts of the upgrades will arrive on Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri’s cars for the Silverstone Grand Prix on July 9th and the Hungarian Grand Prix on July 23rd.
« So we are focusing more on the car itself rather than the track characteristics. Therefore, even though we only have one practice session, we hope to validate the new package and, from there, move on to a more competitive situation. » states Andrea Stella in an interview with RaceFans.
For the team manager, the improvements should be a few tenths of a second and should be noticeable from a lap time perspective.
