Hitech confirms its candidacy for Formula 1
Stable present in F3 and F2 notably, Hitech has expressed its candidacy for a potential entry into F1 in 2026. This decision was motivated by a major investment that could benefit Oliver Oakes' team.
This Monday, the parent company of Hitech, Hitech Global Holdings Limited, announced that it has sold 25% of its shares to Kazakh businessman Vladimir Kim. This is his very first investment in motorsport. The mining tycoon has decided to bet on Hitech for a possible entry into F1 in 2026.
« Motorsport has always been close to my heart and I am thrilled to be concluding a partnership with an organization that has achieved success in so many categories and has such ambitious plans for its future, said Vladimir Kim.
“We are already involved in sports, but this is the first time we are investing in global motorsports. Its dynamic appeal, growing exposure, inter-business marketing opportunities, and expanding fan base align with my personal and business ambitions,” he explained.
The objective: to enter Formula 1
This massive investment comes at the best of times for Hitech: the team has officially submitted an application to join Formula 1 starting in 2026. Its boss, Oliver Oakes, remains confident. « “I am thrilled to welcome Vladimir Kim to the Hitech group. During our discussions, we have found numerous natural synergies, and I know his support will be invaluable as we seek to build on Hitech’s success and work towards fulfilling its broader ambitions in the years to come,” he stated. Hitech aims to show the world of motorsport that it has the capabilities to compete with the best and become a world-renowned racing team.
However, joining F1 will not be easy: other projects are also underway, such as Andretti-Cadillac or the team of Craig Pollock, who would like to be the first team in F1 to have complete gender parity. The road is still long for Hitech, but Vladimir Kim’s investment will only be beneficial to the British team.
