Originally scheduled for Silverstone, Williams’ 800th Grand Prix will now take place in Hungary following the cancellation of the Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix. For the British team, this will be an opportunity to celebrate over two weekends.

First of all, at Silverstone, the Williams will sport a special livery, described as striking, as a tribute to all British people and Frank Williams, the team’s founder who passed away in 2021. Jenson Button will also drive the FW14B, the double world champion F1 car from 1992, before the British Grand Prix. Finally, there will be a fan zone in the streets of London with various activities, including the exhibition of Alain Prost’s 1993 Williams. This will surely delight English fans.

In Hungary, an emblem will be present on the race car to celebrate the number 800, representing the number of Grand Prix races competed in 46 years of history.

46 years marked by numerous successes that now make Williams one of the most prestigious teams in Formula 1. With over 100 victories, 7 driver’s world championship titles, and 9 constructor’s world championship titles, the British team has become a true legend.

Reaching our 800th Grand Prix is a remarkable achievement for Williams Racing. We are incredibly proud of our history and the legacy built over the years, declared James Vowles.

The Team Principal also recalls the team’s successes and its position in the overall history of F1. « Over its 46 years of existence, the team has achieved incredible results. With nine world constructor championships and seven world driver championships, we are the second most successful Formula 1 team of all time, just behind Ferrari » he declared.

We invite all our fans to join us for this celebration as we pay tribute to our iconic past and look towards a bright future,” concluded the British, recalling his desire to revive Williams.

So far, the British team that belonged to the Williams family until 2020 has won 114 races, including 9 constructors’ world championships and 7 drivers’ championships with Alan Jones, Keke Rosberg, Nelson Piquet, Nigel Mansell, Alain Prost, Damon Hill, and Jacques Villeneuve. The 2000s were much more complicated for Williams with the dominance of Ferrari, Red Bull, and then Mercedes.

The stable was acquired by Dorilton Capital in 2020 due to significant financial difficulties.
