Lando Norris elected “Driver of the Day” at the Red Bull Ring
Fifth at the finish of the Austrian Grand Prix, then fourth after Sainz's penalty, the McLaren driver was elected "Driver of the Day" with 26.1% of the votes.

Lando Norris can be satisfied with his Austrian weekend. With his 5th place under the checkered flag (4th after Sainz’s penalty), he achieved McLaren’s best result of the season so far.
Benefiting from many innovations on his car, Norris perfectly managed to exploit them from the beginning of the weekend, finding pace during the two qualifying sessions of the weekend, then during the Sprint and finally in the race.
During this race, he managed to battle with Lewis Hamilton at the beginning of the race before finding himself fighting with Carlos Sainz’s Ferrari in the second half. Even though his hopes for a podium were dashed when Perez overtook the McLaren number 4, the British driver had enough of a lead over Alonso to keep a well-deserved place in the Top 5.
Reportedly, Norris positioned McLaren as the third strongest team on the Red Bull Ring. If the upgrades work as well for Oscar Piastri when they are implemented on the Australian’s car, we should expect the Woking-based team to be a contender for the rest of the season. The battle in the midfield for the constructors’ championship is just getting started.
