Bottas disqualified this Saturday at Silverstone
The Finnish driver Valtteri Bottas has been disqualified from Saturday's qualifying session of the British Grand Prix by the race stewards. However, he is still allowed to start the race on Sunday.

Qualified in Q2 after a good lap time at the end of the first part of the qualifying, Valtteri Bottas was nevertheless the victim of a mechanical issue during his cool-down lap and was unable to return to his pit and thus participate in the rest of the qualifying session.
Therefore, the Alfa Romeo driver was supposed to start from the 15th position this Sunday, but the stewards decided otherwise. Indeed, the FIA deemed that they would not have been able to collect the required amount of fuel in the car #77 and thus disqualified the driver from the qualifying.

However, the Swiss team has asked the commissioners for permission to enter the Finnish driver’s car in the race, a request that was approved this time by the authorities.
Bottas’s disqualification therefore benefits the drivers behind him, notably Red Bull’s Sergio Pérez, who gains a position on the grid for Sunday’s race in anticipation of his comeback. The Mexican driver will start in 15th place, while Bottas will start from the 20th and final position.
The start of the British Grand Prix will be given at 4:00 PM, French time.
