Red Bull equals a 35-year-old record with its 11th consecutive victory
The British Grand Prix allowed Red Bull to achieve their 11th consecutive victory. This win allows the Austrian team to equal McLaren's record from 1988.

This Sunday during the British Grand Prix, Red Bull achieved its 102nd team victory. The Austrian team has also matched the record for consecutive wins held since 1988 by McLaren.
Before the Silverstone race, only McLaren had achieved the feat of winning 11 consecutive races. It was in 1988 that the English team won 11 victories in a row, with 4 wins by Alain Prost and 7 wins by Ayrton Senna. It was Senna who would be crowned world champion at the end of the year 1988.
In 2023, it is the Austrian team that has just equalled this record with a series that started in the last round of 2022 in Abu Dhabi. Since then, Formula 1 has not seen any other team win as many consecutive Grand Prix. Max Verstappen has won 9 times and his teammate Sergio Perez has won two of the 11 victories for the energy drink brand.
Red Bull and Max Verstappen can chase new records
Red Bull could potentially set the record for consecutive wins in the next race at the Hungaroring on July 23rd. Currently, no one has been able to challenge Christian Horner’s team. The team is expected to secure a 12th consecutive victory due to the dominant performance of their racing car this season and the impeccable reliability of their mechanics.
Red Bull could also achieve a feat never before seen in Formula 1. The Austrian team could win every race of the championship this season. So far, Christian Horner’s team has never stepped down from the top of the podium.
Other records may fall soon
On his side, Max Verstappen could break some other records. The Dutch driver could break the record for the most consecutive victories for a driver. The record held by Sebastian Vettel, 9 (record set in 2013), could be equaled at the Dutch Grand Prix by the reigning double world champion if he wins the Hungarian, Belgian, and Dutch Grand Prix.
The Red Bull driver could equal or surpass the record for the most consecutive podiums in Formula 1. Currently, the record stands at 19, achieved during the 2001 and 2002 seasons and held by the seven-time World Champion Michael Schumacher. With his victory at the British Grand Prix, Max Verstappen has now achieved 11 consecutive podium finishes.
The Dutch driver could also beat his own record: the one for the number of wins in a season. The two-time world champion had won 15 Grand Prix races last season. So far this season, the driver has won 8 Grand Prix races, and there are still 12 races left for the driver to beat his own record.
