The change continues in key positions at the Alpine brand. Recently, Bruno Famin was appointed as the director of Alpine Motorsports [link to article]. In a statement released by the Dieppe brand on Thursday, July 20, the position of general manager is now changing hands.

Very involved in the F1 project and by extension in Alpine’s involvement in motorsport, like the future Hypercar project in Endurance, Laurent Rossi will continue to hold positions within the Renault Group as he will now focus on special projects related to the transformation of the Group.

(I) I would like to thank Laurent for his unwavering commitment during these two years at the helm of Alpine. Laurent has laid out a clear and ambitious strategy for the brand. He has positioned Alpine in the best possible conditions to achieve its long-term goals. Alpine is now ready to enter a new phase of its development and become a brand of the future,” says Luca de Meo, CEO of the Renault Group, before discussing Laurent’s successor.

« Philippe brings with him a wealth of experience in the industry, a strong technical knowledge, and the essential leadership qualities necessary for the success of our project, particularly with the launch of the new vehicles for the brand starting next year. I have complete confidence in Philippe and his team to take Alpine to new heights. »

Philippe Krief arrived at Alpine in February of this year as the Director of Engineering and Product Performance for the brand. He had previously worked for Michelin and the FIAT Group. After these experiences, he continued his career at Ferrari and then Maserati, serving as the Director of the Vehicle Department and Technical Director of the Alfa Romeo brand, respectively. Returning to Ferrari in June 2016, Philippe Krief held the position of Director of Engineering, which was his most recent role before joining Alpine.

Sixth in the constructors’ championship, Alpine F1 is far from its initial ambitions of competing with the Top Teams while getting closer to Red Bull. Now overtaken by McLaren since the British Grand Prix, the new director already knows that he will have, among other missions, the task of raising the brand’s F1 team in the hierarchy.
