Who is Philippe Krief, the new CEO of Alpine?
Alpine announced in a statement on Thursday, July 20, the replacement of Laurent Rossi by Philippe Krief, another change in the brand's organization chart. Who is the new man at the helm of Alpine?

Alpine is reorganizing, and Laurent Rossi has paid the price. He is being replaced by Philippe Krief.
Alpine has ambition, in Formula 1 as well as elsewhere. For this, they have called upon Philippe Krief, an experienced man who has already worked for numerous brands. A logical decision for Alpine, which is raising its ambitions by making changes to some of its positions. Let us recall that recently, Bruno Famin took the helm of Alpine Motorsport.
« Philippe combines extensive industry experience with technical knowledge and essential leadership qualities for the success of our project, including the launch of the new vehicles of the brand starting next year. I have full confidence in Philippe and his team to lead Alpine to new heights, » said Luca de Meo, CEO of the Renault group.
However, Philippe Krief is not new to the Alpine organization chart. Indeed, he joined the French brand last February and held the position of Director of Engineering and Product Performance. Therefore, he knows the ins and outs and it is understandable why, within the Renault group, he was the one considered to lead Alpine. Now, the Frenchman will manage the group as a whole, particularly overseeing the development of the seven electric models that will be released by 2030. As for Formula 1, his role will be to develop the team in order to achieve its objectives: challenging top teams.
An experienced man
Moreover, Philippe Krief has experience in the automotive industry. His career choices attest to this. He first started at Michelin, the iconic French tire supplier, before joining the FIAT group, and later becoming a part of Ferrari and Maserati.
He is a man who has built a reputation in the automotive sector, and who seems to be the right choice to lead Alpine and take the team as high as possible in its ambitions. With an enhanced knowledge of engineering in particular, it is likely that the brand’s development will be a priority for him.
Alpine F1 is currently experiencing difficulties, being surpassed by teams it had hoped to defeat this season. The development has not lived up to expectations and will be a crucial factor in the improvement of the team. With the arrival of Philippe Krief, Alpine hopes to take a big step forward, both in terms of management and on-track performance.
