Red Bull is already going to focus on the development of its F1 2024 car
Red Bull will focus on the 2024 car, announced Christian Horner. The Austrian team has limited wind tunnel time due to their domination, but also because of the penalty for exceeding the budget cap in 2021.

Red Bull is dominating the world championship this season. The Austrian team has won all the races so far and has beaten the record for the number of consecutive wins in Hungary. Red Bull has a 229-point lead over Mercedes, who is second in the constructor’s standings.
The stable managed by Christian Horner will focus on the 2023 car. The Austrian team will have its wind tunnel and CFD time reduced due to its domination. Red Bull has also been penalized with less wind tunnel time due to exceeding the budget.
« We have this cost cap penalty until October of this year, so especially in terms of number of races per week, we are very behind compared to the second and third place,” said Christian Horner, Team Principal of Red Bull.
The sanctions are binding for the energy drink company, and the team has decided to focus on the single-seaters for the 2024 season. « With the handicap that we have, we really need to concentrate on next year because we have a significant deficit in wind tunnel time compared to our competitors, and we need to be very selective in how we use it » continued the British driver from the Milton Keynes-based team.
The Red Bull engineers still made improvements during the Hungarian Grand Prix to increase their domination. « We have to be very, very selective in the races we do. That’s why the engineering team in Milton Keynes is doing an incredible job in developing the car efficiently and effectively », Christian Horner explained.
