The F1 teams will sponsor a driver each from the F1 Academy 2024
Big change in the F1 Academy championship, reserved for women: in 2024, Formula 1 teams will be present. Indeed, the teams will have their livery on a car and will support a female driver in the championship.

After the shipwreck of the W Series in 2022, a championship that couldn’t even finish due to lack of money, the F1 Academy seems to be thriving and aiming higher for these women who see their dreams come true. As a reminder, the F1 Academy consists of 5 teams made up of 3 drivers.
Starting in 2024, Formula 1 will enter the F1 Academy to promote this championship. As a result, each Formula 1 team will designate a female driver and adapt their livery on the championship car. For the 5 drivers who will not be affiliated with a Formula 1 team, additional partners will come in. This is a big change for this women’s championship, which continues to gain momentum under the direction of Susie Wolff.
Susie Wolff’s Word
« First and foremost, I would like to thank the Formula 1 teams for their support and vision as we embark on this journey together. This historic moment not only demonstrates the depth of support for the F1 Academy throughout the F1 community, but it will also inspire a whole generation of young girls to realize the opportunities both on and off the track in motorsport. As we join the F1 calendar for next year and host the F1 Academy Discover Your Drive event in anticipation of our races, I am confident that we will have a long-term positive impact on our sport,” she declared.
Indeed, starting in 2024, the F1 Academy championship will follow the same routine as Formula 1, including racing on the same circuits. It will be a championship completely parallel to Formula 1, similar to Formula 2 or Formula 3. This is a significant change aimed at increasing visibility.
“« We created the F1 Academy to bring about real and lasting change, ensuring that young female talents have the right system in place to achieve their dreams,” explains Stefano Domenicali, the director of Formula 1. “« Today is a very important moment as it demonstrates the impact of the project and the support it receives from the F1 community. Susie, the teams, and everyone involved are working tirelessly to make sure that we grow stronger and continue to achieve the important goal we have set together. In 2024, the F1 Academy will join our Formula 1 race calendar, making the series known worldwide, and having the F1 colors on the grid will be something very special,” stated the former director of the Scuderia Ferrari.
