Charles Leclerc and Ferrari are still aiming for second place in the constructors’ championship
Charles Leclerc and Ferrari are hoping to finish in second place in the constructors' standings. Currently, the Italian team is the 4th team on the F1 grid.

Ferrari is struggling in the last two races. The Monegasque driver finished 9th at Silverstone and 7th in Hungary.
« The teams are very close now, especially in qualifying. So, the smallest difference can have a big influence on your results. Therefore, I think as a team on the track, we have to focus on every detail because now more than ever, it has a big influence on your final results. And in Budapest, we probably left a bit of performance here and there, which had a big consequence on our weekend. We’re not fast enough. And that, we know it, and we’re doing everything we can to get back to where we want to be as quickly as possible, explained Charles Leclerc in a press conference.
Ferrari is currently the fourth team on the Formula 1 grid. The team managed by Frederic Vasseur has made several evolutions, but not enough to stay at the forefront.
« I mean, if I only look at myself, we’ve made progress, but certainly not enough when you look at the others. Last year, at this stage, the goal was to win races. So yes, the progress we’ve made is certainly not sufficient. We are aware of it. »
The objective for the Italian team is to finish the season in second place in the constructors’ standings. « I think a realistic goal should be to try and be second among the constructors, which will be a challenge. McLaren is now back in the fight; Mercedes is still strong. Aston Martin has been a bit weaker recently, but I have no doubt they will come back. So yes, that is our target. We have some improvements coming later in the second part of the season, which hopefully will make a difference and help us achieve this goal », stated the Monegasque.
