Logan Sargeant is given a five-second penalty in the Sprint race
The American drove 0.2 km/h above the allowed speed limit when he passed through the pit lane to change his tires.

Bad Saturday for Logan Sargeant. The American received a five-second penalty for speeding in the pit lane during the Sprint race, while he was changing his full wet tires to intermediate tires. He exceeded the speed limit by 0.2 km/h, reaching 80.2 km/h instead of the regulated 80 km/h. The violation occurred precisely at 5:53 PM.
“The car 2 exceeded the speed limit of the pit lane set at 80 km/h for this event by 0.2 km/h,” writes the FIA in its statement. This is a violation of article 34.7 of the FIA. “Competitors are reminded that they have the right to appeal certain decisions of the stewards in accordance with Article 15 of the FIA International Sporting Code and Chapter 4 of the FIA Judicial and Disciplinary Rules, within the applicable time limits,” continues the Federation.
The Williams driver crossed the finish line in 14th place, between Valtteri Bottas and Kevin Magnussen. But because of this penalty, he drops to 16th place, between Guanyu Zhou and Nico Hülkenberg.
