Ferrari is going to introduce major updates in order to regain the P2 position in the championship
Ferrari will make improvements to try to secure second place in the constructors' championship, as Aston Martin and Mercedes are currently ahead at the break. The Maranello team will bring their largest update at Monza.
Ferrari is no longer the second team on the F1 grid. The Italian team is currently 4th in the constructors’ standings. Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz are respectively 5th and 7th in the drivers’ championship, with only three podium finishes in 14 races (12 Grand Prix and 2 Sprints).
The SF-23 will be improved with minor updates during the races in the Netherlands until the Grand Prix in the Americas. According to formel1.de, we will have to wait until the brand’s home Grand Prix to see the biggest update.
In Monza, the Scuderia Ferrari is expected to bring a complete update to the aerodynamics of the car. The floor should be revised, and the sidepods should also be redesigned, explained the German media.
The objective of this improvement is to regain the second place in the ranking from Mercedes. The Maranello team is currently 56 points behind Mercedes. Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz are only 5 points away from Aston Martin’s third place.
The return from the truce could allow Ferrari to climb back up in the standings. Many teams will begin working on the 2024 car due to the budget limit.
