Sergio Perez explained his poor performance

Sergio Perez has been struggling for a large part of this season’s start. After securing 2 victories, the Mexican driver has not capitalized on his promising start to the season. Max Verstappen’s teammate had not reached Q3 in 5 consecutive Grand Prix races.

The Red Bull driver admits that he had a different feeling when he got behind the wheel of the RB-19.

« That has changed a little. I think that when we went to Barcelona, I found a slightly different balance than what I wanted. But I think now we have gained the upper hand, we have made good progress, we have had a good race pace in the last races, but the qualifying sessions did not go as we had hoped, » explained Sergio Perez.

The Mexican aims to maintain his second place in the drivers’ championship. Currently, the former Racing Point driver has a 40-point lead over Fernando Alonso, who is third in the standings.
