Carlos Sainz is confident ahead of Monza
The Ferrari driver, Carlos Sainz, believes that the Scuderia will be among the fastest this weekend at Monza, in front of its supporters.
Monza on the horizon, the Italian Formula 1 Grand Prix, it’s a bit of a Ferrari Week. The history between the oldest F1 team and the Autodromo Nazionale di Monza is such that the men in red are more eagerly awaited there than anywhere else. When asked about the 14th round of the season, Carlos Sainz expressed optimism about the chances of the SF-23s to achieve a good result at home.
« In Monza, I think we should find a decent pace. I know it may seem positive or optimistic at the moment », states the Spaniard, confident in Ferrari’s performances on a fast track. « But our performances since this year are such that we could expect to be once again the second or third fastest car in Monza in front of the tifosi, especially after such a good result in Spa last time. I am more optimistic about this », he explains, referring to Charles Leclerc’s podium in Belgium in July, before the break.
Dressed in their new retro outfits specially designed for the Italian GP, Leclerc and Sainz will be under pressure. In front of a supportive crowd, they must perform well in Monza, especially since Ferrari’s season is currently very disappointing.
