The historic motorsport team Andretti Autosport will be changing its name to become Andretti Global, the identity of the American team’s parent company. The announcement was made on Tuesday, September 5th, in a press release, and the brand has already revealed its new visual identity, featuring a sleek and modernized logo.

The team boss, Michael Andretti, expressed his joy regarding this announcement. « I am proud of what Andretti Autosport has accomplished over the years.[…] If I am proud of our past, I am equally excited about our future. As we continue to grow and build a global institution in motorsport, our goal is to embrace the culture of our fans, teams, and partners. This rebranding is an important step in our team’s journey, but we are just getting started », said Mario’s son, the 1978 Formula 1 world champion and founder of the brand.

Towards a ninth discipline?

So obviously, it’s hard not to think that this global project will encompass the upcoming arrival of the American brand in Formula 1. The FIA should soon announce its decision regarding the potential new teams’ applications, and Andretti has been part of it for several months.

Andretti Global already has teams in eight different motorsports, including IndyCar, where the family brand has seen numerous successes, and Formula E, where their British driver Jake Dennis won the championship this season. However, Dutch media outlet RacingNews365 assures that « the rebranding was planned independently of whether the application to enter F1 is accepted or not. »
