Oscar Piastri: “The toughest race of my life”
Winner of the Sprint the day before, the Australian driver once again shone at the wheel of his McLaren.
New double podium for McLaren who are definitely in very good shape. But unlike Suzuka, it’s Oscar Piastri who overtook Lando Norris behind Max Verstappen.
« I am very happy. I had a big racing rhythm even though it was the hardest race of my life. »
Piastri indeed emphasized the very physical aspect of the race at Losail while three stops were imposed by Pirelli.
« It was very hot in the cockpit. With the three stops, I felt like I was doing qualifying laps on each lap. It was very hard but I am very happy to bring back a new podium. »
With this almost perfect weekend, the McLaren driver consolidates his 9th place in the championship.
