Marta Garcia wins the title of first champion of the F1 Academy
The Spanish woman from the Prema team was crowned after winning the 1st race of the weekend on the Circuit of the Americas.

The F1 title has already been wrapped up for several weeks (if not several months, if we’re being realistic…) but the suspense still remained for the first season title of the F1 Academy, which somewhat replaces the W Series that fell by the wayside.
At the end of the 1st race on Saturday at the Circuit of the Americas, it is the Spanish Marta Garcia, 23 years old, who won the victory, which assured her the championship title. The one who runs for the Italian stable Prema had secured the pole position the day before.
In the championship standings, she has a total of 278 points and leads by an insurmountable length over Swiss driver Léna Bühler (222 points) and Emirati Amna Al Qubaisi (207 points). Lewis Hamilton quickly came to congratulate Marta Garcia for her performance after the race.
“[I feel] really good, amazing, of course”, commented the new champion after her triumph. “When I won, when I crossed the checkered flag, I didn’t really feel it, I don’t know why! But after that, all around, I even started to get a little emotional, and then [think about] everything, like all the hard work we have done this year with the team.”
“Of course, it’s great to win the championship, also being the first champion of the F1 Academy, it’s incredible“, she added, proud of herself.
