François Cevert’s F1s presented to the public at the Epoqu’Auto show in Lyon
To pay tribute to François Cevert, whose 50th anniversary of death is being celebrated this year, the Epoqu'auto show will allow to see the F1 driven by the Frenchman in F1.
The Epoqu’auto show will be held in Lyon on the days of 10, 11 and 12 November 2023. In tribute to François Cevert, and with the help of ELF, the organisers plan to present to the visitors the F1 cars driven by the French F1 driver who passed away 50 years ago.
« Visitors will be able to discover the first F1 driven by François Cevert in 1970 (March 701), Tyrrell Team but also a Formula 1 from 1973 a Tyrrell 006, the last one driven by this champion. »
François Cevert teamed up with Jackie Steward in F1 at Tyrrel and had a relatively short career in the premier class with only 46 Grand Prix in less than 4 seasons. He raced for only two manufacturers, March, founded by Max Mosley and Tyrrel the following year and over three seasons.
In addition to Formula 1, the salpon époqu’auto will also present its other cars driven in motor sports including the Matra from Le Mans or a rally car.
« Also on display is the Matra MS 650 from the 24 hours of Le Mans (1970) driven by the Cevert / Brahbam team. The exhibition will showcase the one and only rally car driven by François Cevert at the Rally of the West in 1967: an Alpine A110 Berlinette. The Ford Capri 2.6 RS will conclude this tribute. » explains the press release.
The salon époqu’auto will also present other historic Formula 1 in addition to other vintage vehicles.
