500€ fine for Guanyu Zhou
The commissioners observed Guanyu Zhou's speeding. Alfa Romeo is fined 500€.
Guanyu Zhou will start 10th on the grid at the Mexico Grand Prix. The Chinese driver had some impressive sessions this weekend. However, a small setback in his performances on Saturday, as the stewards noticed a speeding violation in the pit lane. Zhou was caught at 84.1 km/h, which constitutes a violation of Article 34.7 of the FIA Sporting Regulations.
The speed limit set on this circuit is 80 km/h. In an official statement, the FIA declared: « Competitors are reminded that they have the right to appeal certain decisions of the stewards, in accordance with Article 15 of the FIA International Sporting Code and Chapter 4 of the FIA Judicial and Disciplinary Rules, within the applicable time limits. The decisions of the stewards are made independently of the FIA and are based solely on the relevant regulations, guidelines, and evidence presented. »
Alfa Romeo was fined 500 € for this speeding offense.
