Lewis Hamilton will wear a helmet in the colors of Brazil for the Grand Prix on the home soil of his idol Ayrton Senna, as he showed on his social media platforms. Since his debut in Formula 1 with McLaren in 2007, Lewis Hamilton has worn a yellow helmet, very similar to that of the Brazilian three-time world champion. The British driver has never hidden his admiration for the Brazilian driver. During the 2017 Canadian Grand Prix, where Hamilton achieved his 65th pole position, equaling Senna, the family of the three-time world champion presented Hamilton with a helmet worn by Senna himself during a race.

Hamilton and the Brazilian Grand Prix

The Interlagos track is a source of great happiness for Lewis Hamilton. In 2008, he won his first Formula 1 world title against Felipe Massa, by one point. He first triumphed on this track in 2016, under heavy rain. The British driver won again in 2018, but his victory on this circuit in 2021 against Verstappen remains the most iconic. He celebrated this success by waving the Brazilian flag with him on the highest step of the podium. The seven-time world champion has become an honorary citizen of Brazil since last year.
