The Brazilian Grand Prix extended until 2030
It's official, Formula 1 announced today that the São Paulo Grand Prix will remain on the F1 calendar until 2030, thanks to a 5-year extension. In an official statement, Stefano Domenicali, CEO of F1, Ricardo Nunes, mayor of Sao Paulo, and Alan Adler, CEO of the Grand Prix, expressed their thoughts on this extension.

Interlagos, the legendary Brazilian circuit, will once again be featured in the Formula 1 calendars, at least until 2030. This circuit is one of the oldest in the premier category. Officially known as Autódromo José Carlos Pace, named after the Brazilian driver who won there in 1975, it has been on the Formula 1 calendar for over 50 years and is one of the most iconic racetracks in the world.
The boss of Formula 1, Stefano Domenicali, spoke about this extension. « I am delighted to announce that we will stay at Interlagos until 2030, and I am looking forward to experiencing once again the wonderful atmosphere that Brazilian fans bring. Brazil has a rich racing heritage, and this iconic circuit is a favorite among drivers and fans from all over the world. The mayor of São Paulo, Ricardo Nunes, also welcomes this renewal. The contract extension of the São Paulo Grand Prix, broadcasted in around 180 countries, strengthens our city as a global leader in organizing major events with economic and social impact, generating jobs, income, and opportunities. Every year, we also advance our sustainable development program, integrating innovations to address challenges and bring more benefits to the city of São Paulo and Brazil.
Finally, the CEO of the Grand Prix, Alan Adler, also expressed his pride in this. It is a great honor to have obtained the contract extension, which guarantees São Paulo’s place on the Formula 1 calendar. It is recognition of the work we have done, with the crucial support of the São Paulo municipality. Continuing to be a partner of Formula 1 is a great source of pride. Now, we will immediately begin planning for the years to come, so that we can have even better editions of the Grand Prix in the future.
Today we will have the one-hour free practice session before moving on to the qualifying session. Due to the sprint format, Saturday will be dedicated to the Sprint Shootout and the Sprint race. The actual race will start on Sunday at 6 PM, French time.
