Fourth in the driver’s championship, with two races to go, with 198 points and eight podiums, Fernando Alonso is having a very impressive season with Aston Martin. While the Spanish driver did not achieve a single podium between the Dutch Grand Prix and the Brazilian Grand Prix, from August 27th to November 5th, his third-place finish against Sergio Perez two weeks ago has reignited the motivation of the two-time world champion for the end of this season. His team is still in the fight for fifth place in the constructor’s standings, 21 points behind McLaren.

The hope of a good result in Las Vegas

Like many F1 drivers, the Aston Martin driver is excited about the return of the discipline to the city of Nevada. « “I am interested to see how the city embraces Formula 1 and I have always loved racing in the United States and trying new circuits,” said Fernando Alonso, as reported by Aston Martin.

« Like with any new subject, it takes a bit of time to get used to it. It will also be interesting to see what the levels of grip will be like, as it’s always a factor on new circuits. This will also be affected by the low temperatures, in which we’re not used to racing this year. It’s the opposite of Qatar, for example. There are also no support category races here, so that will likely make the track more slippery when we go out, details the double world champion.

“We are thinking about 2024, but we want to make sure we arrive next season in the best possible position and with the maximum number of points,” concluded the Spaniard.
