Lewis Hamilton and George Russell do not see Las Vegas through the same lens
While Lewis Hamilton calls on F1 fans to give the Las Vegas Grand Prix a chance, his teammate George Russell, on the other hand, expresses a more pessimistic opinion about the future of the track, aligning himself with Max Verstappen's train of thought.

Many drivers simply focused on the fact that the spectacle was omnipresent for this Las Vegas Grand Prix, and find it more restrictive than anything else, like Max Verstappen, who didn’t miss the opportunity to express his discontent towards the event. Lewis Hamilton, on the other hand, believes it’s normal to go to great lengths to attract a new audience.
The sport continues to grow. […] It’s such a great country. I think in order to truly tap into the market here and really captivate the audience, we need to organize at least two races. One was not enough », before adding: « it’s one of the most iconic cities among the ones they have here ».
Finally, he tackles the subject of the track, which, like the car, hasn’t received only positive feedback from the drivers. Perhaps the track will be good, perhaps it will be bad. It was average in the simulation. It’s certainly not Silverstone. I think we shouldn’t criticize it before trying it.
George Russell does not believe in Las Vegas
George Russell, on the other hand, approaches things with much more pragmatism, particularly from a technical perspective of the track.
« It certainly won’t be an iconic circuit in terms of layout, it was designed to try to improve the race ». Indeed, it questions the attractiveness of the circuit and its big curves. « I’m not really sure about the quality of the race because there are long and straight lines, but since we all have a minimum of downforce, the drafting effect won’t be as significant ».
A pessimistic view of the circuit that concerns both the qualifications and the race. « It is going to be very difficult to find this balance between performance in qualifying and in the race, and by learning the circuit, the bumps on the track, you may be able to find a smoother line on the straight or sink into the bumps, which requires raising the car and losing performance. »
