George Russell penalized with two points on his Super Licence
George Russell had a collision with Max Verstappen in Las Vegas. He was deemed responsible and penalized.

George Russell has been sanctioned by the FIA. The Mercedes driver had a collision with Max Verstappen during the Las Vegas Grand Prix. While the Dutchman was attempting to overtake his opponent at turn 12, the two cars collided.
Debris from both cars notably caused the intervention of the safety car on the 24th lap. George Russell will ultimately secure the 8th place, just behind his teammate.
Russell judged completely at fault
During the race, the stewards decided to penalize George Russell with a five-second penalty. The authorities deemed that Max Verstappen had aligned his car at the same level as the Mercedes driver. As a result, it was George Russell who collided with the Dutchman. « The driver of car number 63 did not seem to anticipate being overtaken by car number 1 in the corner, and therefore, while turning in the corner, he collided with car number 1 », as stated in the press release.
After the Grand Prix, the FIA once again investigated this accident. Ultimately, George Russell was penalized with two points on his Super Licence. Henceforth, the British driver has accumulated four units on his driver’s card, within the current 12-month period.
