Christian Horner speaks about Max Verstappen’s outspokenness on the Las Vegas Grand Prix
Christian Horner was not bothered by the multiple statements and criticisms made by his driver Max Verstappen towards the Las Vegas Grand Prix.

As Max Verstappen has just won his 18th championship victory of the season, Christian Horner has addressed the comments made by his driver regarding the Grand Prix and would like to emphasize the Dutchman’s professional character.
« I think he realizes that this is an important event for F1, and I think the race and how it unfolded today is certainly something he enjoyed. », before adding, « He didn’t judge the race. I think he’s a little uncomfortable with the spectacle element, the Super Bowl effect that has been applied here.
Asked about Max Verstappen’s reaction to the idea of wearing Elvis-style jumpsuits, Horner explained, “« we showed him that several weeks ago, it was something he was aware of and embraced. So, having our two Elvises on the podium is a great outcome ».”
The fact that he won in an Elvis Presley combination and sang Viva Las Vegas, even though you have to respect that he is not comfortable with some of the things happening around F1, it is quite refreshing that he is willing to speak up and give an honest opinion.
Christian Horner appreciates that his driver doesn’t mince words. Indeed, Max Verstappen didn’t hold back from criticizing the Las Vegas Grand Prix during the event, and on several points. He was particularly upset with the organization regarding the overwhelming focus on the show aspect. He also deemed the circuit layout too simple and unappealing. Afterward, he slightly revisits his comments.
“I was expecting it to be a good race,” he said. “It was just, like I said before, four long straight lines, low-speed corners where you don’t lose a lot of downforce, so that has never been my problem. But yes, the race was fun.”
Christian put me in an awkward position so that I couldn’t leave them hanging, so I had to sing. But I really need » lessons.
