Max Verstappen may soon break Lewis Hamilton’s record
As he aims to continue the fine form that has seen him win a third world championship title in 2023, Max Verstappen is closing in on another Formula 1 record held by Lewis Hamilton.

Max Verstappen has had a very dominant Formula 1 campaign this year as he headed towards his third undisputed title. The Dutchman has set numerous new records throughout the year, including the highest number of victories in a season and the highest winning percentage in F1 history.
He finished with a 290-point lead over his runner-up, who was his teammate, Sergio Pérez. The Mexican won two out of the first four races of the season but couldn’t keep up with Verstappen in the long run. Verstappen emerged victorious in every race starting from the fifth round, except for Singapore, which is the only event this year where Red Bull was defeated.
Verstappen is now approaching another record held by Lewis Hamilton. From the British Grand Prix in 2018 to the Bahrain Grand Prix in 2020, a total of 48 races, Hamilton finished every race in the points. His streak only ended when he was excluded from the next Grand Prix due to a positive Covid-19 test.
This is the longest consecutive points scoring streak in F1 history, but the Dutch driver is continuing to chase the record and has a chance to claim it in 2024. Verstappen’s current streak of scoring points started at the Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix in 2022, 41 races ago. The 26-year-old driver has finished in the top 10 in every race since then, with only 4 out of the 41 races being outside the podium.
