F1TV Pro discontinues live broadcasts in France
The news came down on Monday December 18: the F1TV Pro platform will no longer be broadcasting the sport live in France for new subscribers, as of this Monday.

To watch F1 live in France, Canal+ will be the only access possibility: F1TV has sent its subscribers news that should somewhat disconcert them. The platform will indeed no longer broadcast F1 live for its new members in France, from the date of this December 18th. A decision that has not been the subject of any communication, explaining this directive.
« We are making changes to how F1 TV is provided in France. From 18/12/2023, F1 TV Pro will no longer be available for new subscribers. » it was written.
The current subscribers will in principle always benefit from this broadcast until their subscription expires.
F1 TV was launched in 2018, following the numerous communication projects established by Liberty Media, since the Americans took over the reins of the discipline. In France, the F1TV commentary was provided by Gaëtan Vigneron, the commentator from RTBF in Belgium. The official YouTube channel even offered post-Grand Prix summaries.
The rates were either monthly, at 6.99 euros per month, or annual, whose price was set at 64.99 euros last spring. Therefore, a regressive rate. At the end of the year, the rate had risen to 109.99€ per year before disappearing from the F1 TV catalogue in France from December 18, 2023.
Subscribers could benefit from a wide range of immersion tools: all onboard cameras, live radios, telemetry, the drivers’ map and exclusive documentaries.
If this choice has been given for France, no information has reached us regarding a similar directive for Switzerland and Belgium, whose RTS and RTBF offer F1 for free. Additional information will be the subject of a next article on this topic.
The only subscription still available is therefore F1 Access which allows you to watch replays as well as documentaries and technical magazines without seeing F1 live or Formula 2.
