Max Verstappen would like to see Mugello back on the F1 calendar
In 2020, the Mugello track hosted the Tuscan Grand Prix. Despite retiring on the first lap of that race, Max Verstappen had enjoyed the track and would be happy if F1 went there again.

The F1 calendar continues to grow over the years. Miami in 2022 and Las Vegas, this year, are the two new circuits that have hosted the discipline. In 2024, 24 Grand Prix will host the premier category of motor sport.
Other tracks have hosted F1 in the past, but are no longer on the calendar. While the 2023 season ended with Max Verstappen’s third place, the Dutchman admitted that he would like to see the Mugello circuit return to the calendar. The F1 calendar is already known and there is little chance that this track, hosting MotoGP, will host the discipline again in the coming years.
« The Mugello. Because of the layout of the track. There are so many fast turns and in a F1 car, it’s so pleasant », Verstappen declared in the Talking Bull podcast. The circuit, owned by Ferrari, has only appeared once in F1, during the year 2020, marked by Covid-19. During this edition, Max Verstappen did not finish the first lap. He ended up in the gravel trap after a collision with several single-seaters.
« The most important thing is the car »
Of all the Grands Prix on the 2023 calendar, Singapore is the only track where the Dutchman has never yet won with his Red Bull. For the triple world champion, having the best car is essential in the title fight.
« Every year is a bit different. It also depends, of course, on the quality of the car. But I think that you also rely a lot on your experience. I mean, you already have a lot of experience in your career and in F1 and you know that if you want to fight for a championship, the most important thing is the car », explains Max Verstappen.
« But in addition to that, your performances must be very consistent and it’s something that you must strive to achieve again. Every year, it’s a new challenge to try to do it », the Dutchman continues.
