Alessandro Giusti joins the Williams Academy
The 17-year-old French driver will contest his second FRECA season in the colors of Williams, whose junior program he has just joined. At the same time, he signs with French team ART GP.
Alessandro Giusti concluded his first rookie season in FRECA, the European Formula Regional championship, in sixth place overall. The French driver, who was the Formula 4 champion of France in 2022, finished in second place in the rookie championship, with three victories, two pole positions, and four podium finishes.
Behind the wheel of the G4 Racing Swiss team’s single-seater, Giusti worked wonders with a team that plays in the midfield. Despite a more difficult end to the season, the young Frenchman has emerged and caught the eye of the Formula 1 paddock.

And so it is finally Williams who announces Giusti’s arrival within the Williams Academy. The Frenchman will be alongside Zak O’Sullivan and Franco Colapinto, Formula 2 drivers, as well as Oliver Gray and Luke Browning, who are in Formula 3. Williams also hits two birds with one stone by announcing the arrival of Sara Matsui, a 13-year-old Japanese karting driver.
“I am so excited to join the Williams Racing Driver Academy,” Giusti said upon his arrival in Grove. “It’s truly special to join such a prestigious Formula 1 team. I can’t wait to begin this journey and work closely with the team on my development.”
In addition to this news, ART GP has also announced that they will be signing Giusti for the 2024 season of FRECA. He is, in fact, the first driver to be confirmed behind the wheel of the French single-seater.
