After Formula 1, Netflix is diving into NASCAR
The American streaming platform is increasingly developing its documentaries on car racing. After "Drive To Survive" about Formula 1, Netflix will broadcast "Nascar: Full Speed", focusing on the flagship motor sport in the United States.
Just like “Drive To Survive” with Formula 1, Netflix will be broadcasting a documentary series on its platform about NASCAR, entitled “Nascar: Full Speed”. This series will follow the fate of 16 drivers during the playoffs of the 2023 season, which is the elimination phase that concludes the flagship motorsport season in the United States.
As with Formula 1, the filming crews were given access to the “insider” aspects of the discipline and followed the drivers on and off the circuits. The five episodes will be available on the Netflix platform starting this Tuesday, January 30th.
It remains to be seen if the series about NASCAR will be as dramatized as the one about F1, in a sport that already emphasizes showmanship. The trailer gives a taste of what we will find in the series: rivalries, tension, and even accidents.
