Haas continues to make changes as the approach of the 2024 season. After replacing their team manager last December, the American team has officially announced on their website their two reserve drivers for 2024: Oliver Bearman and Pietro Fittipaldi.

“I am happy to have both Oliver Bearman and Pietro Fittipaldi as reserve drivers,” exclaimed Ayao Komatsu, director of Haas, on the team’s website.

Bearman convinced in 2023.

During the 2023 season, Oliver Bearman had the opportunity to drive for Haas twice during the Free Practice 1 sessions. The Briton comes from the Ferrari development program, and the relationship between Scuderia and Haas allowed him to have these two outings.

“I am really happy to be part of the MoneyGram Haas F1 Team for the upcoming season,” said the driver who finished 6th in the 2023 Formula 2 championship. “I had an excellent experience last year working with everyone in the team and I am looking forward to building on that this year.”

On the American garage side, this signature is also appreciated. Oliver did a fantastic job for us last season by integrating well and working on his FP1 race programs in Mexico and Abu Dhabi, and then with his testing program, claimed the Japanese engineer. We look forward to giving him the opportunity to participate in more FP1 sessions in 2024 – with testing in focus, it’s a crucial race time, both to assess Oliver’s progress and to allow him driving time in a Formula 1 car.

Pietro Fittipladi extends the adventure.

Despite the arrival of Oliver Bearman in the reserve, Haas has confirmed that they will continue their collaboration with Pietro Fittipaldi. The Brazilian, who joined in 2019, will continue to bring his knowledge to the team. He is also expected to support the young Oliver Bearman. « I am happy and proud to start my sixth season with MoneyGram Haas F1 Team,” exclaimed Pietro Fittipaldi. « I am looking forward to continuing our development work and supporting the team in the best possible way throughout the FIA Formula 1 World Championship 2024. »

For the 2024 season, Haas will rely on three experienced drivers (Nico Hülkenberg and Kevin Magnussen as regular drivers and Pietro Fittipaldi as a reserve) with a refreshing wind blowing through the Ferrari driver program. Having Pietro with us for a sixth season is valuable as it ensures continuity and he has been a great contributor to our program over the years, explained Ayao Komatsu. We are thrilled that he has secured a full-time seat in IndyCar this season so he can do what he loves – racing, but he is also here for us as a member of the Haas family.

Haas finished in 10th position in the last championship.
