Lego Technic expands its collection of Formula 1 models. The toy manufacturer has officially announced the release of the Mercedes-AMG F1 W14 E Performance. In order to reconstruct the famous black single-seater, 1642 pieces will need to be assembled. The final result is at a 1/8 scale. Consequently, the W14 will measure 13 cm in height, 63 cm in length, and finally 26 cm in width.

The release of this Lego is scheduled for March 1st, 2024. In total, you will need to spend €219.99 at an official store or on the website. A version adapted for younger children with fewer pieces is also set to be released.

The single-seater is completely black as it is mainly made of carbon. The parts simply haven’t been painted. This is the second time Mercedes has opted for a vehicle of this color. Historically, the manufacturer is symbolized by gray, hence the nickname “Silver Arrows.”

Among the components of this miniature Mercedes-AMG F1 W14 E Performance, Lego Technic has created the necessary parts to build the V6 engine pistons. The set will include a suspension and tires. However, the Pirreli logo will not be displayed due to rights reasons. Unlike reality where the rear tires are wider, the Lego tires will be identical. Once the car is fully built, it will be possible to activate (or not) the DRS.

All the Lego sponsors are stickers.

The history of the single-seater car.

The Mercedes-AMG F1 W14 E Performance is the car that was driven by George Russell and Lewis Hamilton throughout the 2023 season. While its aesthetics were highly appreciated by F1 enthusiasts, its level of performance left much to be desired. In 22 races, the German car did not win a single race. The developments made by the engineers allowed the drivers to hope to snatch a victory from Max Verstappen in a few races. However, they could not do better than a 2nd place on the podium.

Despite the scarcity of victories, the W14 enabled Mercedes to finish 2nd in the constructor championship. With a mere three-point advantage over Ferrari, Toto Wolff’s garage managed to accumulate 409 points.
